On Sept. 30, Amgen staff, family and friends across Canada took part in the Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure in support of breast cancer research. With 200 participants, this was Amgen Canada’s largest team ever, and along with the Amgen Canada Donations Committee, they raised close to $10,000 in donations.
“Thank you to everyone who participated in the 2018 CIBC Run for the Cure. It was amazing to see all the Amgen employees with their friends and family members enjoying the day,” says Michelle Irvine, Team Captain for Amgen Canada.
As the largest single-day, volunteer-led event in support of breast cancer research, the Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure gathered more than 82,000 participants and raised an estimated $16.2 million this year.
“The CIBC Run for the Cure brings together truly amazing individuals united in their determination and promise to change the breast cancer landscape,” says Jimmy Tieu, Volunteer Run Committee Logistics Lead for Mississauga. “The run represents hope for a future without breast cancer — and hope is something that lasts long after the finish line.”
