Exploring Science and Culture: Amgen Scholars Applications Now Being Accepted
Each summer hundreds of undergraduate students step into some of the world’s premier research universities and institutions to participate in the Amgen Scholars Program. Students conduct hands-on research in the lab alongside top faculty, participate in seminars and networking events, and take part in symposia with their peers and leading scientists.
Canadian students are eligible to apply for the Scholars Programs hosted in four locations in Asia and right here at home; Amgen Scholars Canada Program is hosted by the University of Toronto. Even better news: no previous research experience is necessary and you do not need to be a life sciences major to apply.
Previous Scholars have shared how the program changed both their understanding of science and their view of the world itself. Said one program alumni, “I was blown away by how much opportunity I had to learn and participate in research projects, but I was also so grateful to experience a new way of life.”
To date, more than 4,000 Amgen Scholars, representing more than 750 colleges and universities, have participated in the international program.
Applications for Summer 2024 are now being accepted. The deadline to apply is February 1, 2024. To learn more about the project, please the Amgen Scholars website.
